John P. Walker - Chief Executive Officer of iPierian
Mr. Walker is an experienced leader in the biotechnology industry and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of iPierian and chairman of the Board of Directors for Renovis, Inc. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Affymax, Inc. and Geron Corporation. During his 35-year career, Mr. Walker has served as Chairman, CEO or interim CEO of a number of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, including KAI Pharmaceuticals, Guava Technologies, and Novacea, Inc. From 1993 to 2001, he was Chairman, CEO, and a director of AXYS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and its predecessor company Arris Pharmaceutical Corporation. Prior to Arris, Mr. Walker was Chairman and CEO of Vitaphore Corporation, a biomaterials company that was sold to Union Carbide Chemical and Plastics Company, Inc. Mr. Walker began his career with American Hospital Supply Corporation, where he held a variety of general management, sales, and operational positions and served as President of American Medical Systems and The Hospital Company.

Farah Champsi - Managing Director of Alta Partners
Farah joined Alta in 2000, prior to the formation of Alta BioPharma II. Farah focuses her efforts on biopharmaceutical and medical technology companies. Prior to Alta, Farah was an investment banker at Robertson Stephens & Company between 1987 and 1999, where she focused on biotechnology and other life sciences companies. She was elected a General Partner in 1992 and head of the global life sciences investment banking group in 1995. During that time, she was responsible for building one of the most successful life sciences investment banking franchises on Wall Street. Her clients included Abgenix, Affymetrix, Cephalon, Chiron, Cytyc, Gilead, Millennium, OSI, and ResMed, which represent some of the largest companies in the industry today. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Smith College.

Nick Galakatos, Ph.D. - Managing Director of Clarus Ventures
Nicholas Galakatos, PhD, has been Managing Director of Clarus Ventures since the firm’s inception in 2005. He has over 21 years of industry and investment experience in the healthcare sector, including being a General Partner in a healthcare venture capital firm since 2000. From 1997 to 2000, Dr. Galakatos was Vice President of New Business at Millennium Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: MLNM) and a member of the Management Team. During that time he co-founded Millennium Predictive Medicine and TransForm Pharmaceuticals, where he was Chairman. Prior to Millennium he was an Associate at Venrock Associates focusing on early stage biotechnology investments. Prior to Venrock he was Head of Molecular Biology Research at Novartis (formerly Ciba).Dr. Galakatos earned his PhD in Organic Chemistry from MIT and performed his post-doctoral studies at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Galakatos represents Clarus on the Board of Directors of Aerovance, Link Medicine, Nanostring, and Taligen. In addition, he also serves as a Director of Affymax, Aveo and Portola.
Previous directorships include Caliper (NASDAQ: CALP), Critical Therapeutics (NASDAQ: CRTX), Millennium Predictive Medicine (acquired by Millennium), Syrrx (acquired by Takeda), TransForm (acquired by J&J) and Hypnion (acquired by Eli Lilly).

Ann Hanham, Ph.D. - Managing Director of Burrill and Company
Prior to joining Burrill & Company in 2000, Ann was a co-founder and Vice President of Clinical & Regulatory Affairs at InterMune Pharmaceuticals, and prior to that, the Senior Director for Oncology Product Development at Otsuka Pharmaceuticals and the Medical Director for Celtrix Pharmaceuticals. She has also worked for Becton Dickinson in both regulatory and clinical affairs for the monoclonal antibody program, and as a regulatory toxicologist with the Health Protection Branch of Health and Welfare Canada.
Dr. Hanham holds a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia, an MSc from Simon Fraser University, and a BSc from the University of Toronto. She was also Board Certified in Toxicology in 1986.
She currently is a member of the Board of Directors of Adlyfe, Aerovance, BioTie, elbion, Endocyte, Logical Therapeutics, SCYNEXIS, and Waterstone.

Alain Schreiber, M.D. - Partner of ProQuest Investments
Dr. Schreiber joined ProQuest as a General Partner in 2000. His extensive industry experience provides a commercially-focused operational discipline and a depth of drug development expertise. Prior to joining ProQuest, Dr. Schreiber served as President, Director, and CEO of Vical. Previously, at Rhône-Poulenc Rorer (now Sanofi-Aventis), Dr. Schreiber served in several roles, including Senior Vice President of Research. Prior to his tenure at Rhône-Poulenc Rorer, Dr. Schreiber was Department Head of Biochemistry at Syntex (now Roche Bioscience). He has previously served on the Board of Directors of ActivX Biosciences, BioRexis Pharmaceutical Corp., Cabrellis Pharmaceuticals, Cadence Pharmaceuticals, Concentric Medical, Conforma Therapeutics, Gemin X and Somalogic. Currently Dr. Schreiber serves on the Board of Directors of Aires Pharmaceuticals, Excaliard Pharmaceuticals, LEAD Therapeutics, Optimer Pharmaceuticals and Tragara Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Schreiber received a B.S. in chemistry, summa cum laude, and an M.D., summa cum laude, from the Free University in Brussels, Belgium. Subsequently, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel.

Doug Williams, Ph.D. - Chief Executive Officer, Zymogenetics
Dr. Williams currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of ZymoGenetics and as a member of the company's Board of Directors. He previously served as President from July 2007 to January 2009. He joined ZymoGenetics in 2004 as Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice President and was responsible for the company's research and development programs. Dr. Williams has held senior level positions at a number of notable biotechnology companies, including Seattle Genetics, Immunex, Amgen and Genesis Research and Development, a New Zealand based biotechnology company. As Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Immunex, Dr. Williams played a significant role in the discovery and early development of Enbrel, the first biologic approved for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. In addition, Dr. Williams was a member of Immunex Corporation's Board of Directors. Before entering the biotechnology industry, Dr. Williams served on the faculty of the Indiana University School of Medicine and worked in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the Roswell Park Memorial Institute.
Dr. Williams earned a B.S. magna cum laude in Biological Sciences from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell and a Ph.D. in Physiology from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Mark L. Perry - President, Chief Executive Officer and Director
Mr. Perry was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Aerovance in February 2007. He has served as a Director since October 2004, and served as Chairman from 2006 to 2007. Mr. Perry was the Senior Business Advisor for Gilead Sciences, Inc., reporting to the CEO, from 2004 until 2007. Mr. Perry was an executive officer of Gilead from 1994 to 2004, serving in a variety of capacities, including General Counsel, Chief Financial Officer and most recently, Executive Vice President of Operations, responsible for worldwide sales & marketing, legal, manufacturing and facilities. From 1981 to 1994, Mr. Perry was with the law firm Cooley Godward Kronish LLP in San Francisco and Palo Alto, serving as a partner of the firm from 1987 until 1994. Mr. Perry received his J.D. degree from the University of California, Davis in 1980 and is a member of the California bar. Mr. Perry also serves on the Board of Directors of Nvidia Corporation.
